VANTABLACK Three Worlds, One Vision
Goal:
Develop a concept-driven editorial that explored how three distinct visual worlds could be unified through a single element—black clothing.
This shoot marked a personal creative milestone: my first project where I served as both director and model. It was designed to showcase my ability to style, shape visual environments, and lead emotionally cohesive narratives across multiple editorial looks.
Action:
I led the full creative direction, styling, and production—building three cinematic looks, each rooted in a different emotional tone and world, while maintaining cohesion through color, composition, and mood.
Taking on both director and model roles deepened my sensitivity to pacing, physicality, and communication on set. It sharpened my instincts around posing cues, lighting intention, and directing talent—skills I now bring into every collaborative production.
Key responsibilities included:
Styling all three looks to feel distinct yet unified through monochromatic design
Guiding the visual narrative and mood across concept, location, and wardrobe
Collaborating with the photographer to build lighting setups that defined each world’s tone
Curating minimal, intentional set elements to amplify emotional presence and aesthetic clarity
Result:
The shoot was featured as both the cover and editorial spread in Selin Magazine and was later republished by multiple Colorado-based creative platforms.
This project demonstrates my ability to:
Translate visual themes into cohesive, story-rich imagery
Balance direction, performance, and concept execution
Lead multi-look editorial campaigns from ideation to publication
Create emotional continuity across distinct environments with minimal resources
It continues to serve as a visual case study in experimental styling and creative leadership—proving that constraint can become a powerful design tool.
